Ecotrophology is the science of home economics and nutrition. Graduates can plan and direct processes in the food and utilities industry, provide nutritional counseling and provide consumer information. They can also develop and evaluate food, equipment and manufacturing processes, and engage in marketing of relevant products and services.
The study of ecotrophology combines natural, social and economics subjects. Graduates work at the intersections of different service and production areas. They work in a variety of healthcare organizations, the food and utilities industry and their suppliers and service providers.
In contrast to ecotrophologists, nutritionists are experts in all scientific questions about the processes involved in nutrition, digestion and metabolism, in humans and in plants and animals.
